AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

No signs of holiday cheer at the house where Alex Wells was shot and killed exactly two years ago on Christmas night.

Folks in the Akron neighborhood off of Copley Road remember that Christmas murder all too well.

"He'll be greatly missed.  We think about him all the time over here."

Reporter Scott Taylor covered the initial story two years ago and reporter Bill Safos covered the one year commemoration interviewing Barbara Wells who mourned the loss of her son.

"It's hard to believe another Christmas has come and gone and he's not here."

Last September there was a vigil on Alex Wells' birthday to keep his memory alive.

"Thank god for every moment I had with my son," says Barbara Wells.

Alex was 46-years-old on Christmas night 2011 when he was shot and killed in his drive way.

A trucker by trade, he leaves behind several children who are all left with the knowledge their father was killed on Christmas Day.

"I can only imagine how they feel today my prayers go out to that family."

But his niece observes Christmas the way she says her uncle would have wanted her to.

"Continue to make this day bright because that's what he wants."

Akron Police are still working to solve what is now being called the Christmas murder of 2011.

If you have any information, give them a call.
