The Ohio State Buckeyes entered into their final non-conference game Friday night with a record of (12-0). The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks men's basketball team traveled to Columbus, Ohio to try and put a blemish in the Buckeyes' perfect record.
The Buckeyes jumped all over the Warhawks early and often. LA-Monroe didn't score their first basket until nearly five minutes into the first half. Jayvon James finished as the high scorer for LA-Monroe with only seven points in the loss to the Buckeyes.
The big story offensively for the Buckeyes Friday night was the play of senior guard Lenzelle Smith Jr. who scored 17 points and seven rebounds in the 40 point win. LaQuinton Ross had a double double scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Amedeo Della Valle put up 14 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Bucks' in Friday's one-sided contest.
The Buckeyes, now, (13-0) on the season will begin Big Ten Conference play on Tuesday December 31st as they travel to Mackey Arena to play the Purdue Boilermakers (10-3).
