AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A New York man was sentenced to probation for spitting blood and throwing urine on two Summit County sheriff deputies.

31-year-old Sanford Joseph Lapsley got drunk at the Akron-Canton Airport during a layover last October.

He then had to be escorted off his flight.

While trying to escape, he fell and hurt his tooth, causing a bloody mouth. Lapsley then spit blood in a deputy's face.

At the hospital, he threw urine from a portable urinal onto another deputy.

Lapsley was found guilty of harassment with a bodily substance. He was sentenced to 3-years probation in court on Tuesday morning.
