Brook Park Mayor sworn-in on New Years Day

BROOK PARK, OH (WOIO) -

Brook Park Mayor Tom Coyne was sworn in on New Years Day. 

A the city council meeting on Jan. 2,  Mayor Coyne will be submitting cabinet member names for confirmation.

"I am confident we will build a better Brook Park for future generations to come," Mayor Coyne said.  "My vision and purpose is to rebuild the great middle class that our city represents by providing sound economic development, positively focused leadership and a commitment to progress to benefit all the wonderful and caring people who live and work in Brook Park." 

Coyne's campaign priorities for his re-election included: 

· Rebuilding neighborhoods and dealing with vacant or deteriorated homes 
· Reinstating proper street, sidewalk and pavement repairs and sewer maintenance 
· Improving recreational facilities
· Committing more effort towards programs for senior citizens 
· Developing valuable property on the old Ford plant and along Brookpark Road.  

Coyne served as Mayor of Brook Park from 1982 until he retired in 2002.

Coyne's  goal for his new term is to restore Brook Park to the vibrant community it was during his first time in office.
