Landlord arrested for shooting upstairs tenant on Marne Ave.

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

First District Officers of the Cleveland Police Department are currently investigating a shooting that occurred just before 8:00 p.m., on January 1, in the 12100 block of Marne Ave.

Officers located a 50-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Sgt. Sammy Morris states that the preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting victim rents the upstairs apartment from the shooter and they were returning home after having drinks at a local bar.

Once at home they became involved in an argument and during the argument the landlord obtained a shotgun and shot the victim in the abdomen.

The male was conveyed to MetroHealth Medical by EMS, where he is being treated for his injuries.

The landlord was arrested for felonious assault and taken to the Division's Central Prison Unit.
