CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Two dozen sex offenders are now facing new charges, all for not telling authorities where they're living. But, we noticed some were already in trouble for the same thing, even wanted.

Take the case of David Weigand.  He's a sex offender indicted for not checking in with deputies. Court records show he was already wanted for lying about his address.

Stephen McCrary, another sex offender indicted over his address.

He'd just been convicted for the same thing.

The new cases put another spotlight on how hard it can be to keep track of sex offenders.

In October, Cuyahoga County had 2,800 sex offenders under watch and 125 wanted.

Investigators complain the convicts get hit with felony charges for not checking in. but, judges often give them probation, putting them right back on your streets. and you see they often go right back to hiding on your streets.

So, two dozen offenders now hit with new charges. but, again some might still end up on your block.
