Cleveland Police Officer is charged with menacing

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A menacing charge has just been filed against a Cleveland Police Officer--the same officer just cleared in another case.

Court records show an aggravated menacing charge has been filed against Leonard Moore.

Just weeks ago charges of obstructing justice were dropped against Moore in an unrelated case.

He says the latest charge goes back to a traffic stop on July 4, 2013.

Cleveland Police report that the citizen involved in the traffic stop filed a complaint against Officer Moore, which was investigated by the division's Integrity Control Section.  The results were then reviewed by the Prosecutor's Office and a summons was issued to Officer Moore.

On Friday, January 3, Officer Moore was served with his summons to appear in court.

Moore denies he did anything wrong and he feels he's being targeted by the department because he was involved in a violent arrest caught on camera--a case still under review by the Feds.
