Bedford Judge pleads not guilty to corruption related charges

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A Bedford City leader was in court on corruption related charges Monday.

Bedford Municipal Judge Harry J. Jacob III pleaded not guilty to corruption one count of bribery, three counts of promoting prostitution and six counts of soliciting. His bond was set at $5,000.

Meantime, the arraignment for Bedford Law Director and City Prosecutor Kenneth Schuman was continued until Thursday, January 9.

Schuman is charged with bribery, unlawful interest in a public contract, money laundering, theft in office, obstructing justice, falsification, receiving improper compensation and soliciting.

Both men have taken leaves of absence from their public positions.
