PICS: Lorain bank robber on the loose

LORAIN, OH (WOIO) -

Lorain City Police and FBI are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Commstar Community Star Credit Union on 5609 Erie Ave. in Lorain.

Police say an armed man entered the bank around 5 p.m. Wednesday and forced employees into a back room and proceeded to rob the bank.

He then fled the scene on foot.

When police arrived on scene, the suspect was not located.  A SWAT team was called for assistance.

Five employees were found inside the bank, unharmed.

Police describe the suspect as a 5'6" man, medium build, wearing a black coat, blue jeans, wearing a ski mask and hooded sweatshirt to cover most of his face.

Police are now investigating the incident. 

Reward money is available for information leading to the identity and successful prosecution of the individual responsible for this armed robbery. Tips can remain anonymous and may be provided to the Lorain Police Department or the FBI.
