    Avon Police Dept. called all city residents with an updated Code Red message regarding water usage .

    "The city of Avon has been notified by the Avon Lake Water Plant that they are at a critical point regarding the use of water. Please discontinue any use of water until further notice."

AVON LAKE, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News has learned Avon Lake Water Department has just lifted water use restrictions for Avon Lake citing success overnight installing emergency pumps.

Shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday, Avon Lake Municipal Utilities posted a message to their Facebook page:

Success during the night! We are removing our water restrictions and pumping to our neighbors. They will det. when they can remove theirs.

Water provided to Medina, Avon and Avon Lake was interrupted on Wednesday due to frozen water intakes in Lake Erie, affecting more than 200,000 customers.

Rural Lorain County Water Authority also reports that their water levels have improved and their water input rates from close to normal. They have also lifted all water usage restrictions at this time.

Rural Lorain County Water Authority has issued a BOIL ALERT for the following customers:

In Columbia Township:

  • Hidden Oaks Drive
  • Crocker's Landing Subdivision

In Eaton Township:

Willow Creek Subdivision

For the three Cleveland Clinic facilities in Avon and Avon Lake it is now business as usual.

Richard E. Jacobs Health Center (33100 Cleveland Clinic Boulevard in Avon)

  • Emergency Department remains open
  • Surgeries/Procedures were rescheduled or moved to other Cleveland Clinic locations for January 9, 2014
  • Patient appointments will resume after 10 a.m.

Avon Lake Family Town Centre (450 Avon Belden Road in Avon)

  • Patient appointments will resume after 10 a.m.

Avon Pointe Family Health Center (36901 American Way in Avon)

  • Will open for business today at 10 a.m.
