Berea, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Browns kicked off Week 3 of their coaching search by interviewing former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak on Monday, according to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports.
Munchak spent three years as the Titans coach, compiling a 22-26 record, hardly the "proven winner" with "sustained success" that Jimmy Haslam and Joe Banner promised. But the Browns are now dealing with the clock, as well as the competition. Josh McDaniels, reportedly the favorite for the job, withdrew his name, and other candidates, including Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase and Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, are on hold until their teams are out of the playoffs.
Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt met with the Browns on Saturday, one day before San Diego was eliminated from the playoffs by the Broncos, but is considered the frontrunner for the Detroit Lions job.
