Man robbed at gunpoint responding to Craigslist ad in Akron

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A 31-year-old man is behind bars, accused of robbing a Hubbard, Ohio victim who was responding to his Craigslist ad.

This happened around 11:30am on Friday, Jan. 17.

The victim reported he responded to a Craigslist ad to buy some gold jewelry.  The victim called the "supposed seller" and was going to meet him in a parking lot in the 400 block of East South Street.

When the victim arrived in the parking lot, the seller pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim's money.  The suspect took $200.00 and fled on foot.

After the suspect was identified as Zachary L. Christopher, Akron Police Officers responded to Christopher's address.  Christopher was taken into custody without incident.
 
Christopher gave officers consent to search his bedroom.  Officers found a 9mm handgun used in the robbery as well as syringes, rolling papers, a burnt spoon, plastic bags and razors.  

Christopher was charged with aggravated robbery, weapons under disability, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia and was booked into the Summit County Jail.
