Evansville police are investigating a shooting that took place at the intersection Kentucky Avenue and Gum Street around 11:30 Tuesday night.

When they arrived on the scene, officers found several shell casings and broken glass in the roadway.

A few minutes later, police say 30-year-old Jamarcus Carter showed up at a local hospital with two gunshot wounds to his lower leg.

Carter told police he was shot at Kentucky and Gum but did not know who shot him.

Officers say they found the SUV Carter was in at the time of the shooting parked in his driveway.

The SUV had several bullet holes through the passenger door.

The investigation is ongoing.
