AVON LAKE, OH (WOIO) -

Ford says there will only be a two-week layoff for half the workers at the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake.

The plant will rotate shift opportunities for approximately 1,000 production workers. Two-week cycles and two-week temporary layoffs for half of workers. When on the rotations, workers will receive 95% of pay.

The Avon Lake Plant rotations will begin Aug. 4 and will continue into 2015 when a new product launches at the plant.

Ford is currently identifying regional relocation opportunities for approximately 200 employees who may be affected by layoffs at Avon Lake.
