Cleveland cops renew push to find hit and run driver that killed little boy

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police are making a push to find the hit and run driver who killed a little boy.

On Oct. 25, 2013 at approximately 7:17 a.m., Israel Thornton, 5, was hit by a car as he crossed Denison Avenue, near W. 37th St.  The driver of the vehicle did not stop, fled the scene and has yet to be caught.

Investigators believe the vehicle is light in color and one of the following makes/models: Dodge Journey, Kia Sorrento, Jeep Laredo 4X4 or similar.  The vehicle may have some damage to the left front area.

Anyone with information regarding the identification of the wanted vehicle or suspected driver is asked to contact the Cleveland Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit at 216-623-5290.  Anonymous information can be given to Crime Stoppers by calling 216-252-7463 or via text message: text TIP657 plus your message to Crimes (274637).
