CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Federal agents during the last week seized $1.5 million in counterfeit NFL merchandise at the Cincinnati DHL air cargo facility.

Last Friday, agents and the NFL announced in New York more than $21.6 million in seizures of counterfeit NFL merchandise leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII.

"Working with our officers, agents and import specialists, (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) prevented the influx of over 33,000 counterfeit NFL items worth $1.5 million from entering our country," said Augustine Moore, acting director of field operations in Chicago.  "It's this level of teamwork and commitment that ensures the American consumer is getting the genuine products they are paying for."
