PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A Phoenix father has been arrested for allegedly taking his two young daughters with him as he bought heroin at a Valley drug house.

Phoenix police said 25-year-old Anthony Castaneda met Nicolas Wasson at the McDonald's restaurant at 32nd Avenue and Indian School Road on Monday afternoon to buy $300 worth of heroin for Wasson. Castaneda's cut for buying the drugs was just $20, according to the police report.

Castaneda, with his daughters ages 2 and 6, then drove Wasson to a house in the 4400 block of 29th Drive to buy the heroin, police said. Castaneda took his 2-year-old daughter into the drug house while leaving his 6-year-old daughter asleep in the backseat with Wasson, a known drug addict, according to police.

Undercover officers followed the two men as they were driving away from the home and pulled them over after Castaneda reportedly failed to signal when making a turn. The officers found 7 grams of heroin on Wasson and two bags of suspected tar and powder heroin under the 6-year-old girl's leg.

Castaneda was arrested on child abuse and drug charges.

Wasson admitted to using heroin for the past decade and said he bought the drug through Castaneda two or three times and each time they went to the same house.

Wasson had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and a suspended license.
