Suspect wanted in failed bank robbery attempt

BEREA, OH (WOIO) -

An unidentified suspect is wanted for attempting to rob a Berea bank.

According to the Police: "The unknown suspect described as a white male approximately 6'0", 185lbs, medium build, with a mustache and wearing glasses, a Carhart jacket and a winter hat."

The suspect walked into the U.S. Bank located at 118 Front Street in Berea at approximately 9:40 a.m. Saturday. 

He presented a note indicating that it was a bank robbery and implied he had a weapon. However, no weapon was seen. 

After a short time the suspect took back the note and left. He did not get away with any money. 

If you have any information regarding the identity of this individual call the Berea Police Department or the Cleveland Division of the FBI. Tips can remain anonymous.

Reward money is available for information leading to the successful identification and prosecution of the individual responsible for this robbery.
