Former Henderson mayor pleads not guilty

Former Henderson mayor, Tom Davis, pleaded not guilty during his appearance Tuesday morning in Circuit Court.

Davis, who is also a Henderson City Commissioner, was formally charged last Friday with impersonating a police officer.

He's accused of confronting Robert Frederick and Neil Hall at a fast food restaurant on Highway 41 last September.

The two men say Davis made them believe he was a police officer and he asked for their ID's

During Tuesday's hearing, Davis' attorney asked for a special judge to be appointed to the case.

In addition, Commonwealth Attorney, Bill Markwell, asked to be recused because of his personal relationship with Davis.

A pre-trial hearing is set for Monday.
