Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cuyahoga County Board of Health Officials say four more people have died from the flu. This brings the total number of flu-related deaths this season to 13.

There have been 529 people hospitalized for the flu, which is the second highest season total over the past four years.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, while vaccines provide the greatest protection against the flu, other effective measures include:

-Washing hands frequently or using alcohol-based hand sanitizer
-Covering coughs and sneezes with tissues or coughing or sneezing into elbows
-Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth
-Staying home when sick and until fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication
