Police: Drugs likely factor in Willoughby shooting; suspects arrested

WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) -

Four suspects are in custody in connection to a shooting in Willoughby.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday outside of the Willo Park Apartments on Euclid Avenue.

The suspects arrived to meet with the victim in the parking lot. 19 Action News has learned the victim was shot in the chest after a disagreement.

It is believed that drugs were involved in the incident.

After being shot, the victim was rushed to the ER by a friend before he was flown to Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center by Metro Life Flight to be treated for his injury. The victim is listed in stable condition.

Three of the suspects identified are juveniles. Two of the juveniles, age 17, were transported to the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center and are being charged with delinquency to commit aggravated robbery and felonious assault. The investigation is continuing with the third juvenile male and charges of aggravated robbery are forthcoming. Samuel Scott, 18, is charged with complicity to aggravated robbery.
