Terry Francona is one of the best managers in the game. If you ask him, the Tribe also has one of the top pitching coaches in the game- Mickey Callaway. "He's really good, he's prepared and he's confident. The pitchers like him." Francona said Callaway looked like a savvy veteran last year, his first year as a pitching coach. "...the way he carried himself, nothing ever sped up on him."
The Indians also have great chemistry, something a team needs to win. "This is a great clubhouse," said Michael Brantley. And that is critical in baseball. "It's just a matter of having fun, being out here and making it a good environment, said catcher Yan Gomes. "It makes it really easy to come out to the field, that's a big thing for us and the success we had last year."
Reliever Matt Capps has been shut down for a couple of weeks after experiencing shoulder pain. He suffered the injury a few days ago in a long toss session. Capps is in camp on a minor league deal. The right-hander missed most of last year with a shoulder injury.
