STRONGSVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

Part of Strongsville's Sewer District  is on flood patrol February 20, 2014.

City crews were out in full force clearing debris from drains in an attempt to ensure the creeks won't flood.

Part of Rob Sestito's job requires him to walk on rocks sticking out of the water in order to remove the debris.

"I am not really worried about falling," said Sestito.

Crews also use hand shovels to uncover storm drains hidden under mounds of melting ice and snow left behind by plows.

District manager Ray Jarrett says the city is prepared.

He told 19 Action News, "We do have crews going through out the entire city checking our problem areas."

At the height of today's flood threat, the Forest Gleen Creek rose three inches in just one hour.

But, with 15 people on flood patrol, city officials don't expect significant flooding.
