CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A Cleveland Police Sergeant that was the subject of 19 Action News Carl Monday investigation was indicted on criminal charges Monday.

Sgt. Dean Graziolli is charged with 11 counts of theft in office.

Monday busted him leaving work and spending up to three hours driving home during his shift.

Court papers back that up, saying Graziolli was using a city patrol car, city gas and city time to leave his territory for personal use.

This allegedly went on from Oct. 14, 2012 to Nov. 1, 2012.

Graziolli is a Sgt. in the 4th District and lives in the 2nd District, a total distance of 17 miles.

“It is sad and disappointing that a police officer would violate the public trust and compromise the safety of the community because of his own intentional incompetence,” said Assistant County Prosecutor James A. Gutierrez of the Economic Crime Unit in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.
