CHARDON, OH (WOIO) -

Chardon Schools has partnered with Motorola Solutions, Inc. to pilot an innovative communication method whereby direct radio contact is easily facilitated and controlled between emergency responders and affected school personnel during emergency situations.

The safety partnership comes just a day after the two-year anniversary of the deadly shooting at Chardon High School. Russell King, Jr., Demetrius Hewlin and Daniel Parmertor were killed by a student gunman at Chardon High on Feb. 27, 2012.

School staff members will be trained on March 6.
