LAWRENCE COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - Three teens are charged in the homicide of a Lawrence County man, according to Sheriff Sam Craig.

One suspect is in custody, and two others are still at large.

The victim has been identified as Rodney R. Allender, 43, of Dutch Ridge Road in Lawrence County. A press release from the sheriff's office said they received a 911 call made from Allender's home at 9:42 p.m. Thursday evening. The caller reported finding a family member dead.

Police ruled Allender's death a homicide after an autopsy on Friday found he died of blunt force trauma.

Sheriff Craig said they believe the motive behind Allender's murder was robbery, because money and firearms were taken from the home.

The sheriff's office said one suspect, Austin M. Curtis, 18, of Bedford, Indiana is already in custody at the Lawrence County jail. Warrants have been issued for two other young men. They are identified as Taylor M. Flynn, 19, of Bedford, and a 16-year old juvenile.

The two may be in a vehicle last known to officers as a white 1996 Chevrolet Beretta Z-26 model with a possible Indiana plate of 787-LNM. Because they may have firearms, the sheriff's office says they could be dangerous, and if spotted, call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department at 812-275-3316, or law enforcement.
