CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police Sergeant, Dean Graziolli, made his first court appearance Monday, after his indictment on 11 counts of theft in office, tampering with records and dereliction of duty.

The indictments were based on evidence Carl Monday and his team gathered during a three month undercover investigation in 2012.  Their cameras caught the 20-year veteran coming home in his police cruiser, day after day, hours at a time, when he was supposed to be fighting crime across town in the fourth district.

Carl Monday confronted Sgt. Graziolli in court asking, "Got anything to say to us?"  Sgt. Graziolli said nothing as he was quickly ushered in by his attorneys.

Sgt. Dean Graziolli pleaded not guilty and is free on $5,000 bond. After the hearing, his attorney said to Monday, "I don't have anything to say at this point."

Neighbors told Monday Graziolli had been stopping home for the last ten years.  So the question remains, why didn't his bosses catch on?

In another interesting twist, a cruiser can be seen in his driveway on Google Earth.  That photo was taken in 2011, nearly two years before Carl Monday's investigation even began.

Graziolli's troubles continued in 2013 when he was cited and found guilty of several traffic violations related to an off-duty accident in which he crashed his personal vehicle into a tree.

Graziolli has been suspended without pay.  After his criminal case has been heard, he will face administrative charges and be afforded a disciplinary hearing before the Safety Director.
