Parma Heights cop resigns amid probe into missing evidence room drugs

PARMA HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

A major investigation is going on right now inside the Parma Height's Police Department as a detective with seven years on the force resigns just days after being placed on paid leave.

19 Action News investigative reporter Scott Taylor broke this story on Twitter last week that the detective was placed on leave after drugs were found missing inside the police department's evidence room.

The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and the Attorney General's BCI Agents are all over this one.

Criminal charges have not yet been filed against the officer so 19 Action News won't release his name.

The officer had been on administrative leave in connection with the investigation.
