Tennessee Titans cut their long-time kicker Rob Bironas on Wednesday. The 36-year-old Bironas signed a new deal with Tennessee in 2013 but didn't make it into the second year of that deal, with the Titans deciding that his production no longer met his cost.
"We want to thank Rob for his nine years of service to the Titans," Titans GM Ruston Webster said. "He has been an outstanding kicker and we appreciate him both for his contributions on the field and in our community."
Bironas hit on 86.2 percent of his field goals in 2013, but ranked just 20th in the NFL in percentage of field goals made last year.
