The Indians fell to the Colorado Rockies by a final score of 14-6 this afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark and are now 16-6-2 in Cactus League play this spring.
Tribe starter Corey Kluber sailed through the first 4.0 innings, holding the Rockies scoreless on just 4 hits to begin the game. The Colorado offense went to work in the 5th, taking a 2-1 lead before going on to plate 11 addition runs over the final 4 innings.
Michael Brantley drove in 3 runs for a second consecutive day and added 2 hits to his team-high total of 19; he is now batting .514 (19-37) with 10 RBI. Mike Aviles hit his second home run of the spring to lead off the bottom of the 6th. Nick Swisher also turned in a multi-hit effort.
The Indians will travel to Tempe on Sunday tomorrow afternoon to square off against the Los Angeles Angels with first pitch slated for 1:05 PDT/4:05PM ET.
