Chisenhall, Kipnis, Raburn go deep in Tribe win

Goodyear, AZ (WOIO) - The Indians defeated the Reds 8-3 this afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark, taking the Cactus League rubber match after winning 3 of 5 meetings against Cincinnati this spring. Cleveland improved to 17-7-2 overall.

The Tribe built an early 3-0 lead for starter CARLOS CARRASCO, who turned in 6.0 quality innings (6.0 IP, 9 H, 3R-ER, 0 BB, 5 SO) to improve to 3-1 on the spring.  LONNIE CHISENHALL put the Tribe on the board with his 2nd home run of the spring in the top of the 2nd and RYAN RABURN later extended the lead to 3-0 with a 2-run shot in the third. Raburn is  batting .421 (8-19) with 3 home runs and 7 RBI in 8 Cactus League games.  JASON KIPNIS hit the Tribe's 3rd home run of the afternoon in the top of the 6th, a 3-run shot to extend the Indians' lead to 7-1. Minor league infielder JERRUD SABOURIN added an RBI-triple in the top of the 9th.  Four Tribe relievers combined for 3.0 shutout frames to seal the victory.  

The Indians will send RHP JOSH TOMLIN to the mound in tomorrow afternoon's 1:05 PDT/4:05PM ET contest against LHP ROBBIE ROSS and the Texas Rangers at Goodyear Ballpark. JIM ROSENHAUS will provide live game audio available through an online webcast at Indians.com.
