AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Akron Police have cleared a suspect they thought could be involved in a hit and run accident that seriously injured an 11-year-old boy.

Dwayne Grant was struck crossing South Arlington Street between Baird Street and 7th Avenue while walking to school on March 7.

Earlier this week, Akron Police released surveillance video of a man they thought could be connected to the incident. His name was never released and he is no longer a person of interest.

Grant suffered a broken leg which required surgery and other injuries.

If you have any information about the accident, please contact Akron Police.
