Burglars steal from cafe run by people with developmental disabilities

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police are looking for the suspects who broke into a cafe run by people with developmental disabilities.

It happened around 3 a.m. on March 24 at Hattie's Cafe on S. Main Street in Akron. Hattie Larlham provides job training and work experience for people with a variety of disabilities. Baking and food prep, food service at Akron's Courthouse, catering and more.

Officers say the suspects got in quickly and once the alarm tripped, they fled. But they got out with $190, money that could have gone to support the organization's work.

Since 19 Action News first aired the surveillance last week, police have received tips but have made no arrests.
