AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

At seven-years old, Julian Bearshak, a first grade student at Seiberling Learning Center, knows a lot about compassion.

"I like to help people, it's one of my favorite things to do," said Julian.

Julian spearheaded a teddy bear drive at his school after being inspired by his father.

Julian's father is firefighter at Station No. 8 in Akron, who is also working to promote the drive

"My dad inspires me a lot," said Julian.

All of the bears and stuffed animals collected will be donated to the burn unit at Akron Children's Hospital

Seiberling Learning Center is no stranger to good deeds.

The school raised close to $1000 in honor of another first grade student battling Lymphoma. The money was raised as part  of the "Pasta for Pennies" program sponsored by Olive Garden Italian restaurant.

Megan Mannion, Seiberling's Principal, is proud of her students.

"I'm sure he's going to take my job one day or President Obama's job," Mannion said about Julian.

When I asked if he had any parting words Julian said, "You should always do good deeds that's my number one thing, is doing something nice for someone."
