Family believes string of car fires are retaliation

Posted: Updated:
LORAIN, OH (WOIO) -

A local family had three of its cars burned in the last week and five in the last month-and-a- half.

Family members suspect the fires were set as retaliation from a local gang.

Last month Bohannon Miller was sentenced for killing Marquis McCall and the McCall family believes Miller not only killed their loved one but is now behind the burning of their cars.

Lt. Greg Neil with the Lorain Fire Department is investigating the arson fires.

"When you have it like this and it all comes from the same family tells you something is going on and we need to solve this," Neil said.

The family does not want to participate in the story because family members fear retaliation.

Family members did say they don't want to be intimidated by the gang but at the same time they have the welfare of the children to think about.

Both the police and fire departments continue to investigate.
