CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The countdown is over. When Clevelanders wake up Friday, April 4, the calendar will read, "Play ball!" It's opening day at Progressive Field for the Indians.

Fan Glen Taylor is pumped up about the season, "....very psyched. I'm very psyched."

George Taylor shares his high hopes, "The Indians are going to the playoffs." I know they're going to the playoffs. There's no thinking."

For some fans, going to opening day has become a tradition. The Niedenthal's drove up from the Canton area the night before the game and will be in the ballpark for the first pitch Friday, April 4.

Bobbi Niedenthal says it's all about the celebration in the stadium,, "We've actually been married for four years. And every year that we've been together this is our thing. Our birthdays are in March. This is our birthday gift to each other. This is where we come."

A new ball season paired with spring-like weather brings a sense of optimism and hope.

"It's spring. It's time for renewal. It's the Indians. We're going to win it all," Niedenthal affirms.

The forecast is calling for warm weather but plenty of rain which doesn't bother Bobbi Niedenthal.

"I don't care because either way rain or shine we're going to be there, " she tells our George Smith.

Her and her husband have arrived prepared with their rain gear. They say ponchos and a couple of cold ones are all they need.
