AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

For nine hours Sunday, April 6, the Kenmore leg of the Akron Expressway was closed down due to a roll-over semi accident.

The accident happened right around 1 p.m. According to dispatcher Novak with the Akron police, the driver was on a ramp heading east towards Akron when he lost control.

The 18-wheeler was loaded with recycled paper. Tow truck operators joined police at the scene to turn the rig upright. According to Akron PD, the semi had to be unloaded, then straightened up and finally reloaded.

The driver did escape the crash without any injuries, but the accident did closed down the eastbound lanes of the Kenmore leg of the Akron Expressway for the entire day.
