CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Crews are filling in the hole that swallowed up two year old Aliya Brown on Saturday.

"What happened," 19 Action News investigative reporter Scott Taylor.

"I fall," answered Aliya Brown.

"Who came and got you out," asked Taylor.

"My Mommy," answered Aliya Brown.

Mom, who was visiting friends, saw Aliya walk into what she thought was a puddle.

"I was scared like I couldn't breathe I was just like no. Where my baby at? She was in a puddle of water," said Lindnetta Curry.

The puddle turned out to be a hole that was several feet deep after a water line broke.

The water was over little Aliya's head. A neighbor pulled her out after she went under.

CMHA tells 19 Action News they never received a  past complaint about any hole at the apartment complex.

"So as for CMHA, you knew about it after the fact right? You didn't have any complaints," asked Taylor.

"It was first brought to our attention on Saturday evening," stated
CMHA Courtney Kilbury.

Aliya is fine and CMHA brought in a crew to fix the break in the water line and fill in the hole.

"I am happy to see them fixing it because the kids who live down here on a everyday basis are the ones who have to worry about that," said Lindnetta Curry.
