CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police say they're "actively searching" for a homicide suspect who'd been spotted twice in recent days.

And the chief's office now has provided more about what happened on Friday. 19 Action News has learned detectives had been with a witness when the wanted man was seen heading into East Cleveland.

Complicating things, the closest Cleveland patrol car at that time was headed back to district headquarters with a flat tire. So the suspect disappeared.

Monday, Cleveland Police spotted him again, and although zone cars scrambled, the suspect escaped once more.

The suspect is wanted for the murder last week of Diveen Martin. Martin, 26, was shot in the 900 block of East 129th last week.
