Akron Police arrest suspect who allegedly assaulted elderly man at ATM

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Akron Police have arrested the suspect who allegedly assaulted and robbed an elderly man.

The incident took place at an ATM the 700 block of North Main Street on March 31. 

According to police, the suspect punched an 84-year-old man in the face, knocking him to the ground. Once on the ground, the suspect took the victim's wallet containing $70 in cash.

Thank to the help of an anonymous tip, detectives arrested Jonathan L. Brown, 24, on Tuesday night.

Brown is charged with robbery.
