Valdosta, GA -

A wanted fugitive on the run from Ohio authorities has been apprehended in Georgia. Valdosta Police released a report Sunday, April 13, 2014 that they have Marlin Koonce in custody after responding to a domestic dispute call.

On Saturday, April 12, Valdosta Police went to a residence on Troup Street after reports of a verbal argument. After interviewing individuals at the residence they determined one individual was Marlin Koonce who was currently being sought by the East Cleveland Police Department

Koonce is wanted for a list of crimes including attempted murder, robbery and assault. He is considered extremely dangerous.

"This was a tremendous effort by a patrol supervisor and officers with the police department who conducted an internet search from their in-car computers finding media articles to help determine the identity of Koonce, who initially lied about his identity. Their persistence paid off and ensured a violent offender from Ohio is off the streets of Valdosta," stated Valdosta Chief Brian Childress.

Koonce is in the Lowndes County Jail pending extradition procedures back to Ohio.
