CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A rough ride for more drivers on I-90 eastbound Friday morning.

Some kind of metal in the road flattened dozens of tires near Deadman's Curve bringing the morning commute to a screeching halt.

"All of a sudden I heard this terrible banging, so I pulled over to the side of the road and I saw about 10 other cars sitting at the side of the road changing their tires," said Deitlind Rothenbusch.

It happened just before 8 a.m.

At least a dozen vehicles got flat tires.

Anita Rutledge was heading to Massachusetts with her husband Larry, who will be running his 21st consecutive Boston Marathon on Monday. Last April, Larry had just crossed the finish line when two bombs went off.

"This is very important to us, this year going back. Now here we are, we're trying to get there and we're stuck here on I90 in a rental van with a flat tire," Anita Rutledge said.

While the flat tires caused quite a few headaches, no one was hurt.

It's still a mystery where all the metal came from.

ODOT was called out to it clean-up.
