Suspected church thief arrested in Portage County

Police in Portage County say they've arrested a church thief.

During the week of April 14, Portage County Sheriff's Office began investigating thefts from churches in the Ravenna Township area.

Nicolas Coppa, 24 was arrested after surveillance evidence led police to him.

According to the sheriff's office, Coppa would steal any money or miscellaneous items he could find.

Coppa has been charged with four counts of breaking and entering and attempted breaking and entering.

He's in jail without bond.  He'll be arraigned Friday afternoon.
