Blue Jays blank Indians

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The Indians struggles to start the season continue at home as they were shutout by the Blue Jays 5-0 on Saturday, April 19. Mark Buehrle baffled the Indians lineup as they could only muster four hits on the day.

The 35-year old struck out three batters and never really faced much of a threat.

The Indians defense continued to struggle, as they could not make plays in the first inning, spotting the Blue Jays and Buehrle two runs.

Although the Indians were not credited with an error, they still didn't give much help to Cory Cluber, who gave up nine hits and four earned runs. The Tribe defense came into the game ranked dead last in the American League.

Carlos Santana suffered a setback as he went 0-4 one day after belting out a homerun against the Blue Jays.  In fact, the top six hitters in the order combined to go 1-21.

The Indians conclude their series tomorrow as Carlos Carrasco tries to remain in the starting rotation.
