LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) -

Lakewood Police arrested 23 people Saturday, April 19, after a fight at the end of a heavy metal concert.

Larenda Ellis had a front row view to the brawl.

"My house is right there so when I came out straight gun shots heard," Ellis told 19 Action News.

Police said gun shots were fired but no one was hit. Four people were stabbed but their wounds are not life threatening. As many as 30 people took part in the fight.

The violence broke out around 7 p.m. in Lakewood which came as a surprise to resident Jamira Powell.

"It is ridiculous; because, we are in Lakewood. This is a suburb. This is not common for us," Powell was very vocal about her feelings.

That concert, Firefest 2014, featured bands like Ring Worm, Drowning and Race Riot. Neighbors like Brian Kerlin didn't expect fans to become so violent after the show.

Kerlin was concerned about the entertainment and said, ''Not the kind of concert I would go to."

And the timing of the violence was even more unsettling for Powell. The violence happened on the night before Easter Sunday.

''Before Easter. The resurrection of Jesus. It's crazy," Powell exclaimed.

All 23 people remain behind bars on Easter Sunday night. They are expected to be charged with a number of felonies on Monday, April 21.
