It was around 3:00 A.M. Wednesday morning when someone with a gun busted in the door of an apartment at 11830 and Kinsman. Inside was 27-year-old Donald Williams Jr., his two year-old son Donnell, and Donnell's mother. She has told police and family what happened.

"They busted in the door. Shot him. They said you know what this is about, then they shot him again," says Sandra Williams, the mother of Donald. "Then she said they ransacked the house, or first she said they said they told her to put her head down don't look up. And the baby looked up and they shot above his head."

Two year-old Donnell wasn't hit. His father was and died right there. The family is having a hard time with the question of why including his father, a former police officer.

"It's a hard pill to swallow. I mean that's my name sake. I mean it just, it took everything out of me," said Donald Williams Sr.

Whoever pulled the trigger, and even shot a bullet over the head of little Donnell is still out there and the family has a message for them.

"I don't want vengeance. I don't want vengeance. I want the police to pick them up. Whoever they are," Sandra told 19 Action News Reporter Dan DeRoos.

The family is not only asking for help in catching the killer but also to raise money to help with the funeral of Donald Jr.
