WATCH LIVE AT 2PM: NBA announces decision on Clippers owner Donald Sterling

(WOIO) -

The NBA is investigating racist comments Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling allegedly made in a taped conversation while talking to his former girlfriend.

The league is planning a news conference at 2 p.m. Tuesday to discuss their findings.

The league has hired an audio forensics expert to help determine if the voice on the recording is, in fact, that of Sterling.

The NBA could sanction Sterling.

The controversy is hitting the Clippers in the pocket book. More than a dozen corporate sponsors, including Carmax, State Farm, Virgin America and Kia Motors America have cut ties with the team.

Sterling has kept a low profile since the recordings were released over the weekend, but his wife says her husband is not a racist.

The NBA could suspend Sterling indefinitely and issue up to a $1M fine.

The LA Clippers are back on the court Tuesday night when they take on Golden State.
