NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced Tuesday the league's punishment against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

Silver began by stating that the voice heard on the recording has been verified and it is indeed Donald Sterling. Sterling made numerous racist remarks in a taped conversation while talking to his former girlfriend V. Stiviano.

Among the sanctions: He has been banned for life. He cannot attend any NBA games, practices, or any business involving the Clippers. Sterling is also no longer allowed to attend any NBA Board of Governors meetings.

Sterling was fined $2.5 million dollars, the maximum allowed. The funds will donated to anti-discrimination organizations, yet to named.

Silver said he will also urge the NBA Board to governors, executive committee and other owners, to force the sell of the Clippers organization.

The controversy is pulling the Clippers purse strings. More than a dozen corporate sponsors, including Carmax, State Farm, Virgin America and Kia Motors America have cut ties with the team.

The LA Clippers return to the court tonight. They take on Golden State in Game 5 of their first round NBA playoff series. The series is tied at two games.
