A threat made on Twitter, towards Nordina High School and a specific student, was handled efficiently thanks to quick thinking by students and teachers.

A student enrolled in the Digital Knights program made the threat on Twitter, targeting the school and a particular student. Numerous students and parents called the school immediately, keeping students safe.

Macedonia Police began investigating, and as of 4 p.m., arrested the suspect, and that person is in custody.

No word yet on the name or age of the suspect. No one was injured.

Police say there is no threat to the students, and that they are continuing to investigate.

Superintendent Joe Clark told 19 Action News, "We are extremely grateful for that those that let us know of the tweets so we could handle the issue immediately."

Clark also reassured parents, saying that there will be an increased police presence tomorrow at the school.

The suspect is due in court Thursday morning.
