MACEDONIA, OH (WOIO) -

A digital student at Nordonia High School appeared in court Thursday morning after allegedly posting threats on social media.

Mitchell Biss, 18, pleaded not guilty to a charge of inducing panic. His bond was set at half a million dollars.

Biss is enrolled in the Digital Knights online program, and allegedly made the threat towards the high school and a specific student on Twitter Wednesday afternoon. A number of astute students and parents immediately contacted police. Biss was taken into custody a short time later.

Police did beef up presence at Nordonia High School on Thursday to help ease the nervous of anxious parents and students.

Officers also conducted a search of Biss' home on Thursday morning.
